Nourishing Caramel Apple Crisp:
I love to make a crisp that has a bottom of caramel apples. I did this without precise measurements for the top and you can too! Don’t be nervous…
Caramel bottom:
3 tbsp heavy cream, I like raw!
1/4 cup sweetener (sucanat, maple syrup, coconut sugar or nectar)
6 Tbsp butter
1 tsp vanilla
Pinch of salt
4 cups apples (organic!)
Mix together and put in bottom
of your baking dish.
Top is made from 2 cups of solids, I used:
Almond meal (majority of mix)
Coconut flakes
Sprouted flax powder
sprouted chia powder
1/4 cup maple syrup
4 tbsp coconut oil, melted
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp vanilla
Mix ingredients and top onto bottom layer.
I baked it at 350 for 40 minutes, covering half way through.
You could enjoy this with whipped cream or coconut milk whipped cream.
